Meet Marelize
Eternal optimist. ENFP. Hopeless romantic. Fast walker. Nature lover. Mom. Ocean-swimmer. Avocado-lover.
When I'm not behind the lens, you'll find me hiking the stunning trails of the Western Cape, exploring with my children, getting lost in the pages of a captivating book, or on a mission to find the perfect pastei de nata. I dream of Italy, in a sundress, eating pasta and drinking wine.
I truly believe in the power of love to create magic in the world. I'm here to capture those soulful glances, stolen kisses, and the heartfelt vows that make your love story uniquely yours. Together, we'll create a visual narrative that reflects the depth of your connection and the beauty of your journey.
My Style and Approach
With a passion for storytelling and an eye for detail, I specialize in capturing the authentic emotions and intimate moments that make your wedding day truly unique. I believe in a blend of candid photojournalism and classic portraiture, creating a timeless collection of images that reflects your love story.
But hey, it's not just about the images, it's about the experience! I believe in building a strong connection with my clients, getting to know your personalities and your vision. We'll chat, laugh, and maybe even shed a tear or two together. It's all about creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere where you can be your authentic selves, allowing me to capture those genuine, unscripted moments that truly define your love.
Some things i love
The beach at sunset, fresh flowers, listening to Spoegwolf in my car, extremely loud, of course. The scent of my children and when they give each other hugs, even when it turns into a wrestling match... The library, bookstores and a good book I can’t put down. Sleep-ins and naps (both rarely happens with two kiddos at home). This girl loves her sleep, and she loves to sleep in. Pleasant surprises, belly laughs and a good binge-worthy TV series. Road trips and puffy white clouds in a blue sky. When I get to see glimpses of divine timing, when events are orchestrated in a way only God could manage. Sunny autumn days, and unexpected acts of kindness. When someone, anyone, plays with my hair. Hiking along a quiet trail, the smell of first rain and who I am on vacation. When I haven’t seen a friend in months, but we get together and it’s like no time has passed at all. Old people holding hands and finding money in the pocket of a coat I hadn’t worn since last year. When my kids slow down enough to snuggle for just a minute and having friends outside of my generation.
